my yamaha kodiak will not go over 55kms or about 30 mph roughly, is this just the normal speeds, all my buddys blow by my in fourth gear, i was told the stock cdi box has a electrical govenor but i dont think this is my problom, does anyone have some useful information, or have ever had this problom please help me out reply to this or email me at Iedwards-74@hotmail.com

 

Might be time to clean and grease the clutch.

 

i had a 450 kody. it WOULD do 90km/h. then it got progessively slower. ended up being belt needed replacement and clutch weights needed service, AND, intake valve was tight. I also cleaned the carb. all my wheel bearings also needed replacing. so after all that, it got back to close to the old performance.

 

yeah, i have tried a new belt that help some but didn`t do much
