2001 magnum 500 won`t charge
#1
I`ve got a 2001 Polaris Magnum 500 I`ve replaced the battery and checked everything that I know how the stator is putting out 13 volts at a little abouve idle, but the battery still doen`t get any of it, I`m sure its some thing I`ve overlooked, but can someone lead me in the right direction. I would also like to find a free wiring diagram if I could.:confused

just a guess but check the recifier. 4060173 RECTIFIER,FULL WAVE
its located under the front grill area. this is what controlls the amount of voltage going in to the battery. make sure theres no shorts anywhere as well. good luck.

"The regulator/rectifier is right in front of the radiator, on the left side (as seen from a seating position). It is a small rectangular black box held on with two torx screws. A failed regulator/rectifier is the most common reason for a no-charge condition on these bikes. Also, make sure to check the plugins at the regulator/rectifier, as they often come apart."

yes check the wires at the rectifier. i have repaired these on our bikes several times. also check the small wire back at the battery where in goes into a small pouch. mine has came into there also

THANKS FOR THE INFO THE RECTIFIER WAS SMOKED. THIS SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY AT THE REPAIR SHOP. I`VE ALREADY TAKEN IT THREE PLACES AND THEY ALL TOLD ME MY BATTERY WAS BAD AND REPLACED IT, CHARGED ME FOR IT, ONLY TO STILL NOT HAVE IT CHARGE.
