Hi,

Looking for help with an 02 Sportman problem. Good Battery and fan will run but no power to anything else.....Think the solenoid is done in, pulled it out and it was pretty corroded, cleaned it up and still nothing. Am I on the right track or should I check anything else just to be sure.

so your saying it wont start w/ the electric start then right?

 

You bet, have to use the recoil or jump the starter. No lights, indicators, speedo, AWD, winch etc.

 

I tried changing the solenoid, same result no power to anything. Tried looking for any bare wires, loose grounds etc and haven't been able to find any. Anyone have any Ideas or is it time to visit a dealer?

so you have traced power from the batt. to the starter and know its getting there? check the small wire that goes to the soleniode when the key or buton is pushed. there should be power to that wire when this happens so it can power it to start the wheeler.

 

Got the problem fixed, found a loose connection. guess a new solenoid doesn't hurt either. Thanks
