Gio 50cc kids bike... General Questions? Please help?
#1
Hi all,
Just bought a little GIO quad from the local pawn shop. I think it's a 50cc due to the size. Little Maple Camo body style, no racks, etc... compares directley to the one's on Ebay... Is there a number anywhere on the motor that tells you exactley the cc's, etc?
Runs great... in really nice shape....
Now... my main questions... And I apologize if they are posted elsewhere in this forum.... We're new to GIO bikes... so I apologize... but for the price I couldn't pass it up for the kids...
1. Are these 2 or 4 stroke engines? Does the gas require a premix or is it straight gas?
2. Maintenance. Oil changes etc... recommended timeframe? Recommend oil for changes and quantity of oil required?
3. Manual? Trying to get one from Ebay... but so far no luck? Any suggestions?
4. Air filters (Metal cone style) can it be replaced with anythign else or do you have to buy GIO specific parts?
Thanks for ANY help you can pass along!
Happy quadding !!!

4 stroke...straight gas
oil change 10w 40 i do it every 10 hours or so it will take under a quart not sure exactly
manuals for these are useless they suck!
if its not a paper filter just clean it or you can try to match up a uni filtr
do a search on here on the gio 50 cc and see what you come up with should be plent of reading.

I would change the oil before starting the quad since you don't know whether the previous owner changed the shipping fluid out. The fluid that comes in the quads when new is only for shipping purposes. Cheap insurance!
