2000 Trail Boss 325 - Automatic. The owners and service manuals just say to check the fluid while it is on a flat surface, and fill to the full line. When I do this, over the next few weeks it drips out badly. I have been checking it cold.

Should this fluid be checked when it is hot, like an automobile Auto Trans? Or with it running?
