What can I use to clean an o-ring chain. The chain(s) on my Polaris is all gooked up from a summer of mud and fun, and I'd like to clean it up. Any suggestions? I don't want to ruin the o-rings.

Thanks,

Russ

Manual says to use warm soapy water and a nylon brush.

First, is the chain in good shape? If it is and it's just dirty. Then just undo the master and do what I do acouple times a year. Put it in a oil pan of reg weight oil and use an old tooth brush. There was a tech tip on the internet I found that said he used an old deep frier filled with oil and used a candy thermometer to bring up to a temp that I don't remember. This evaporated the water out from behind the orings and reoiled them at the same time. It also cleaned it back to looking new. It said this smelled real bad doing this but it really works. I believe it but I didn't have the ***** to try it. What ever you do, DON'T USE A PRESSURE WASHER! I've done this and in less then 6mon I had to replace my chain due to failure.
