Battery light flashing 05 800 sportsman
#1
I have the battery light flashing on the 800. At first i thought it was the battery, so i put a new one in. Plus the tach stopped working...... Didn't help
Next i tried a new voltage regulator.
Now the the battery light flashed still. And the tach counts down from 400 to 10 then goes to 5000 then to 3100.
What are your thoughts on my problem?
I have seen people talking about stators and ecu or ecm. Are these an issue?

are you having anyother problems w/ it for electrical. is it flashing all the time or just when idling? did you check the voltage output when running. i dont think tact(guessing) would have that reaction w/ no current w/out shutting the bike off from less then 12 volts it takes to run it. it may have a bad emc or going bad. that thing controlls about have the bike i think. just a thought.

The light does not flash all of the time. Sume times under power and other time when idleing. If im running 40 mph the light will flash for 2 miles the shut off then come back on it 2 more miles.
Also what is an emc? My dealer does not see one on the computer.

My 07 800 was doing the same thing at random times so I took it in. Only has 240 miles on it and always starts but was worried since it doesn't have a pull start. The mechanic thought it would be the battery but it turned out to be something in the charging system. I think he said it was the PDM?
