2007 TRX420FE Electric Shifter
#1
Hello,
I am contemplating purchasing the above and have read all the posts regarding problems with Electronic Shifting. That being said I spoke with a Honda technician that did admit past problems but has stated that Honda has taken the bugs out by adding extra seals and tightening up connections and he has not heard of any problems since. Have other current owners found this to be the case?
Thanks

As a GM tech and before I bought my TRX420FM i did a lot of research. The less electrical stuff you have the less problems you will have with your ATV. Like 90 or 95% people said they never had any problems with it but 5% siad they did. So i got the manual and l like it alot beter then the ES. I test drove the ES and i hated it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks......I think I have decided to go with the manual.....besides I am not impressed with electronic gadgets. About 60 - 40 on the manual. Only thing is can the manual shift lever be easily deployed wearing winter boots? Machine will be used quite a bit for ice fishing.
Many thanks

Learn from other's mistakes...that's what the forum is all about: http://forums.atvconnection.co...tid/8/threadid/527973
I think Honda produces mostly the ES, so when a customer goes to buy a quad all that is available is an ES and even if they know about the problems they say what the heck and get it anyway.

Thanks for all your opinions. I do my research on most items I purchase. Even though Reconranger does not have an ES model it is very evident that he can read and, as such this forum provides valuable first hand accounts. What is the saying? "a smart person learns from their mistakes, while a wise person learns from the mistakes of others."
I am purchasing the FM (manual).
Thanks again
