I have a 05 Honda 400ex. When i start it cold seems to be ok, but after driving it and warmed up. It sounds like a sewing machine.....TICKING TICKING. Dosnt seem to affect performace at all, but its kinda anyoing... What is the problem?

Sounds like the valves need to be adjusted

 

ALL 400ex's tick its usally just the decompressor jammin up If it doesn't do it all the time But Yeah check the valve clearances

 

if u adjust the valves right it will not tick but if it does get rid of the decompression and get a hot cam
