I have not seen a Rubicon yet (though I can't say I have seen many) that the plastic around the foot pegs is not broken.

Has anyone come up with a fix for this?

I get off and on my machine quite often so the plastic is stepped on (full body weight) often. Has not fallen off or gotten to the point of needing replacing yet but I am sure that a honda replacement is expensive.

I have a welding shop and I was thinking of welding up some braces out of aluminum and was curious if anyone has tried this yet.
