Default Valve Adjustment 2K Fourtrax 250 4 stroke 2x

G'day...

Quite new to this site... and find it very infomative. I have looked throughout the forums to find if this question has been asked in the past and have had no luck...

So here it goes:
I need to do a valve adjustment on my bike (ticking like crazy) and was wondering if anybody could provide me some specs for the adjustments?

Any info or tips would be so appreciated...

Thanks!

I didn't reply because I wasn't 100% sure what you have ... Is the bike a 2000 TRX250 Recon ..?

If it's a Recon your asking about the the valve specs on my 2001 are .005
intake and exhaust.

Thanks for the reply guys, yes it's a 2000 TRX250 Recon...

So the Valve Specs are the same for the 2000 and 2001 Recon?

My appologies for the push, just a little frustrated with how the valves are sounding, had to miss a ride over the weekend...

Also, getting a grinding sound from the rear... it's not all the time but it's there... I'm guessing that I need to change the bearings in the rear now as well... is this a common maintanance practice?

I first thought it was the u-joint, but i think the sound is coming form the diff, I draind the diff oil and inspected the gear from the top, didn't see anything abnormal... is there a bearing where the driveshaft connects to the diff?

Would appreciate any recommendations (other than "get the book" lol)...

Thanks a bunch!!!

George

Yep, the valve spec's are the same. I just did mine this weekend, they were clickling like a geiger counter, quiet as a mouse now. i don't know anything about your other problem, know you don't want to hear it but a clymer manual is a cheap investment.
Good luck!
