Default Max Bore!!!

I have a raptor that currently has a 396 kit in it. It helped a lot over the stock 350. I am tearing it down and rebuilding it this winter. I was wounderin if anyone with the 350 has put the 446 big bore stroker in it? Just woundering how much of a difference it makes.

IMO you should just save your $ and invest in a faster quad

I agree. I should have done that. You can dump all that money into the 350 and it still won't perform nealy as good as a stock 450. Even with aftermarket parts, the 350 just doesn't have the suspension travel that you can get from a 450. Trust me, I learned the hard way. But if you insist, I did install the 446 from FST, and it did add gobs of torque, but don't expect to outrun anything faster than a modified 400. I don't think the 446 will have a big impact over your 396. You would be better off to keep the 396 and spend the money on some of that stuff on your wishlist. I would not get a Hotcam for your setup. You would gain more power with a cam that has more duration and lift than the Hotcam. A port job and some bigger valves would give you more power, too.

Yeah unless you want to spend money. I love my 446 motor, it dynoed on a chassis dyno at 45HP but that's a piped YFZ compared to me spending $1300. Your 396 kit is putting about 34HP, if the head is ported a few more. As long as you own the YFM350 based quad don't even compare it in the same sentence as any 450 machine, ecept for Honda all the other 450s are comming from the factory with 40HP to start, if Yamaha ever adds reverse to the YFZ I will consider buying one. But since you already have the 396, I would get a better cam then the HotRods, like a Megacycle 252X1, good valve springs like RD or Kibble White and send your head to have a professional port and flow job done. I have the HotRods 396 kit in my 87 Warrior with the 252X1 cam and it's nice. What you do have is a really nice XC quad, this is were all the torque comes in handy.

thats basically what the HotRod kit is designed after.. after seeing the whole kit go for $400 dollars on ebay, it's much cheaper to go that route then factory parts.
