Im trying to replace the broken boot on my 500 scrambler. I ordered a new boot assembly but how do you install the boot to the ignition wire? Thanks,

There is a screw type assy in the boot itself. Literally just insert the plug wire and screw them together.

 

Harley so I have to seperate the boot from the internal part of the boot? thanks,

You shouldn't have to. Just unthread the plug wire from the old plug cap. Then thread the new cap onto the wire. Litterally just twist the cap off like you are removing the nut from a bolt. You might want to put some dielectric grease in the new boot before you install the wire.

basicly its just like a sheet metal screw end in the cap that just screws into the steel wire inside the rubber ing. wire.
