What causes backfire?
#1
I was riding today, and came to a stop and it idled a little and then backfired and quit. Let it sit for a couple seconds. Started it up and it ran fine all the way home. Which was like half a mile.
Anyways, what could cause this? Its brand new with maybe 2 hours on it.

it could be the opposite as its building extra gas then igniting it at once you. it would do it when your stopping. check the plug to see if its burning dark or very light. maybe sure the air intake isnt blocked in anyway as well. just a idear.

Seriously check this first. If it's out of adjustment it can do what you are stating. Make sure it only has 1/16 in play at the end of the throttle lever. If not, adjust it and I bet your problem will be cured.
