What causes backfire?

Default What causes backfire?

is there any way to get around this etc, I was trying to eliminate it as a problem on my quad and clipped the wires. Will this affect anything? like possibly my low power problem Im having. Sorry for the derail but im looking at everything possible. Thanks

By unplugging or in your case cutting the wires you have disabled the ETC operation. It's a safety feature that cuts ignition if the throttle sticks open for any reason...
