Default Any battery gurus in here? thoughts on battery positiong

I hate to make a new thread (not like this forum sees much action anymore - ) but I am hoping to get some responses as I want to cure my dead-battery issue before this next weekends riding trip. I get tired of being the last one running!

My 730 has the battery mounted flat up in line with the subframe (so the connections are facing the carb). I was doing research on here and on the web about odyssey batts and they say not to mount them any way but "normal". I dont know if my mounting position aided in the death of my pc-545 but I am mostly wondering if the standard Yuasa is capable of even being mounted like this? I guess its better than upside down, but if its going to give me issues I might have to re-consider my plans of purchasing a Yuasa.

Any quick comments or help is appreciated!

Roost, check out a NAPA parts store, I got a PC 545MJ for $ 79.99 last year. Its the same but comes with a nice metal jacket (thus the MJ in the part number. I just pulled the battery out of the jacket and have it for when I relocate it someday.

alright ill have to try that, thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they havnt realized the price increase and still have it lowered! I too purchased one about 1.5 years ago and got it for 85-90 shipped (and the one before that was 65 shipped!) but now they are about 120.
