Default Sportsman 800 RPM Display

My RPM display is reading 0. Once I reach about 35MPH it will read 10 or 20. Also, my hour meter isnt working, the display is there, but it isnt logging time. The trip meter and odometer still work no problem. I am not getting any trouble codes. I just noticed this the other day and havent had any problems other than this. Can anyone help me with this?

All battery connections are tight, so are the connections on the solenoid.

Thanks for any help.

Thomas

so even when your in neutral idling its still reading 0 rpm's?there must be problem w/ the sensor that reads the rmp's as it also controls the hr meter i beleave. i can look in my manual later when i cant home to see if it says anything or maybe someone can tell you which one it is.

Service manual is on order. Was hoping to get it fixed before next week when it comes in, but thanks for the advice.

as far as i can tell the yellow/red wire out of the speedo is the one that controls the rmp from the crank sensor. couldnt find a trouble shooting test for no rpm/hr. meter. theres one for everything but that.
