Sportsman 700 Carb jetting for Snorkle and airbox ideas.
#1
Hi all I just got done snorkeling my 700 polaris I used 2 inch for tranny, clutch, and intake. I went out of the top of the airbox. I took the vent that ends at the top of the carb and extended that as well. I see alot of people go out the bottom of the airbox but I took mine from the top which worked well. Why do folks go out the bottom?? I sealed the airbox lid and it still takes on a little water from time to time. I had an aftermarket pipe and jet kit which i removed due to noise but kept the jets in.
Im having some issues getting the bike to run right so I had a couple ideas and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.
1. go back to stock jets, 2. remove airbox all together and put a fileter on the top of the snorkle.
Reason I think im having issues is it seems the bike is loading up when I have the airbox lid off and start the bike I see almost a mist it seems of fuel coming out of the hose that goes in to the airbox and i think its raw fuel. Oil has no gas in it and seems to run ok but loads up constantly. i just want to get it to run correctly and stop the !BADWORD!!BADWORD!!BADWORD!!BADWORD! airbox from leaking water. Any ideas to help make it run better and stop taking on water in the air box or tips on jettinh would be a plus I have the stock 154 jets on order. I sat in a puddle for about 15 minutes the other day up to the top of the snorkle was stuck bad and airbox finally filled up and shut me down... bummer. all fixed AGAIN this is the second time so i want to seal this puppy up good!

First I want to see some pics and then I'll help you out If it's loading up on fuel I would suspect for are starving it for air with the snorkel on. Maybe too much length or too many bends or something. Is it stock exhaust still?? If you subbed it and filled the airbox with gunk maybe the float stuck causing too much fuel?? I would say clean the carb really well and try again.

i removed the airbox on my ac 500, and it was tricky to get it running right. i re-jetted it and tuned 2 times and got it decent. i put a shroud around the front half of the breather also.( i had the same trouble with water getting in the air box) before i removed the airbox, with a 2" snorkel, it was too much air so i put an 1 1/2" reducer on the tip and it worked a lil better. my brute with a 2" snorkel was starving it for air after 1/2 throttle on open trails, so i use a "U" to ram the air in.......... big diff.

Here are some pics of the Snorkel I did. Snorkel for Polaris 700
Again let me know what jets I should use, how to get this darn thing to run correctly and how to keep the water out of the air box....im considering removing it so if anyone has any pics of this that woul be cool or other ideas are welcome.
