Default 2003 Warrior 350. What To Look For?

This is my first time over on this side of the forum. I've only owned Polaris'. I have had nothing but bad luck and I'm fed up with them. I'm currently looking to sell my '01 Scrambler 500 4X4. There is a guy that wants to trade me his '03 Warrior 350 for it. I have no idea about the Warrior. Is it any good? Reliable? I do ALL trail riding and mud riding. How would it hold up? Will it have as much pickup as my 500? I know it's a lot lighter. What should i watch out for? Is this a good trade? My Scrambler needs about $200 worth of work and his Warrior is mint. Thanks guys.

I forgot to mention that this would be the first manual clutch ATV that I've had. Is it hard to clutch these things? I mean I can drive a standard truck without an issue. I'm a little more worried about my GF who likes to ride my ATV. I would assume it's a 6 speed with reverse.

Some common things to check for are: rear axle bearings (Warriors eat these on a regular basis), swingarm bearings, broken UPPER engine mounts. Other things to check for are worn out front wheel bearings, a-arm bushings, steering tie rod ends, and front spindle ball joints. The easiest way I know how to check everything is to turn the fuel off and stand the bike up on it's wheelie bar and you can rock it back and forth to check to see if there is any play in the swingarm and axle. And with the front end off the ground you can check for any play in all the front ball joints. Warriors are good trail machines, but don't expect it to go through all the mudholes you took your 4x4 through. It has low ground clearance in the rear compared to the Polaris. The manual clutch takes some getting used to, especially after riding a fully auto quad, but it's no big deal. The Warrior is a 6 speed with reverse and is probably close in speed to the 500. Expect to get a little dirtier because the Warrior doesn't have the fenders that the Polaris has.

I know it won't go where I've taken my 4x4. I hardly ever use my 4WD, but when I need to, it's great to have, especially ni the snow. I don't know what I'm going to do. I might just put the $200 into mine and be happy until it breaks again. I already don't have enough ground clearence as it is.

I would probably keep the Polaris (sorry Yamaha fans).
