Vinson Vs Kfx/ltz 400
#1
im looking to buy a new quad in the spring but dont know whether to buy a 2x4 or a 4x4 quad. my trails are mostly fast sections and some medium jumps and lots of hills. So far tjhis sounds all good for a 2x4 but there is some water crossings and some mud. on my freinds eiger the water crossings the water comes almost up to the top of the cylinder at the very deepest. will this be a problem with a ltz 400. also in mud is a 2x4 completely incapable of going through mud. i also am wondering about speed. im not a crazy kid who goes 80 through the trails but i like to get some adrenaline pumping and to most of all have fun. ive ridden my freinds eiger and it has nowhere near the power im looking for. will the vinson be enough or is the kfx 400 better. and one more question. how much snow can a vinson 4x4 plow. thanks

If you cannot ride without going through mud all the time get the 4x4 ....... But if you have access to large open trails, get the z400 ......
I have a lot of friends who got "old" and switched to 4x4 for one reason or another, and now they are all buying sport machines because they realize that they are not actually using their 4x4 very much at all .......
It's two different types of riding really .......
4x4 guys go exploring, and look for mud on purpose... they seek it out to try and best the gunk......
Sport guys try to avoid the mud, we go around it whenever possible. We want open trials and big sweeping turns where we can hang off and pitch it sideways ......I'm perfectly happy riding all day and never getting wet. In the summer I can hit our track for a hour and park a nearly clean quad without cleaning for 45-minutes.... I like that..... I'd love to live in the dessert and never see mud again ......
But I find mud all the time here in NY and I've been stuck many times...... but those few times I wanted 4x4 do not come close to the fun I have riding a sport machine .....
Ideally having both is the best option which is why I have my Rancher. It is a work horse but it almost never gets to play .....

I don't go looking for the mud pits, but I don't avoid the mud either.
The one thing about the ltz, when you go through mud and water, it doesn't have the huge fenders or full floorboards that some of the 4x4 do. So plan on getting wet and muddy.

You do have a point with getting wet but i dont think that will be a problem with me. ive figured that ill get a 2x4 but now am going between a predator 500 and a kfx 400. the predator 500 is a lot faster but some peple say their not as reliable. have any of you heard any problems with these.
