Default o4 predator carb problem

I just put a procom cdi on and i noticed that the carb overflow was leaking gas. This is the first time i noticed this. I have been out on this bike 4 times and never noticed the smell of gas. Could this be because the new cdi is causing too much gas to the carb, or does the carb just need to rebuilt? I have no other engine mods.

it starts fine and runs fine but while it sits just after running, it will leak. I don't know how long it will leak because i turn off the fuel at the petcock

The cdi won't affect the carb and cause it to leak. It's probably a bad or dirty needle valve. Float adjusted wrong maybe.

Default o4 predator carb problem

today I fired ours up and the samething, fuel would pour out the overflow tube meaning that the needle valve wasnt shutting off gas i pulled that carb apart 3 times and It kept doing it finaly I yanked it all apart and looked everything over and notice the float had a little weight to it.... well turned out the darn things has a crack in it and is filling up with gas thus it doesnt float on the gas and wont shut the needle valve. hope this helps

Usually its the needle valve that needs replaced, but check the float carefully cause they do crack sometimes, also check to make sure there is not gas in the oil or air box.

Update i fixed the Plastic float by using the Primer and glue used by plumber for PVC pipes hasnt leaked or caused any problems I used that since I heard superglue comes off or doesnt hold well and jb weld will weight it down, It seemed to be the logical choice I had some already and it causes a chemical reaction welding the pieces together
