Default Winches winch one is best out there

I am ready to buy my new quad have it all picked out but I am having a hard time trying to figure out which winch is the best one out there. The dealer has both a warn 2500 and a mile marker 2500. The best deal is on the mile marker brand can you all out there give the good and the bad on the mile marker, I know the warn will be a good choice but it is 150 more. Thanks for the input

Just buying off the dealer will cost extra. Check ebay a after market place will probably sell you a Warn for the price your dealer wants for this "Mile Marker".

The question was, "what is the best winch" and I'd have to say warn.

Sounded more like he knows warn is better but it cost $150 from a Dealer.

Buy your ATV from a Dealer ,then forget they exist for any other purchase. I,m just told him a way to buy a good winch, for the price a dealer wants for a cheap winch.

A WARN 2.5 2500 WINCH NEW WITH MOUNT should be $330 is that close to what your dealer is asking?

I am on my 4th winch in 4 years. First I had a warn 2000 lb. then a Milemarker 2500 lb., then a 2000 lb. cheap brand I never heard of before. I burnt up the warn and milemarker after a year and the cheap brand started having an electrical problem and would only go one way after about a year. The warranty covered it in the cheap one and I got a free brand new replacement.
I dont think it matters what brand you get they all seem the same to me, the warranty is whats important.

I think with the big brands half the cost is the name. Check out the Venom winches, the prices are less than half of the name brands. The motor is I.1 hp and the cable is heavier but 10 ft shorter. Looks like a new company trying to get established.

Warn is probably the most durable, but any major brand will be pretty good. Warn, milemarker, superwinch, and ramsey are all gonna be good winches. The winch on my Jeep is an 8,000lb. cheap-O brand that is exactly the same as a milemarker for about $200 less. I've been running it for 2 years with no problems. Any winch you get whether it's a top-of-the-line WARN or a $35 unit from harbor freight tools will not last if it's abused. If you frequently dunk a winch under water for extended time, or overheat it frequently, or use it to dead-pull things, or shock-load it, or anything else that it's not designed to put up with, it won't last very long.
