just got a new 2006 honda 400ex

i just got a used 2006 400ex .. i need a new clutch .. any suggestions.. and i want to upgrade all the parts but im new to the whole atv world could someone help me by letting me kno wat dey would do to their bike

Back in 99 when I bought mine, it was the top of the line and worth spending money on. Today however, I wouldn't go dumping a bunch of money into a 400!
Here is what I did to mine:
Full chassis and swingarm skids, a bumper, and handlebars.
This machine can certainly benefit from some aftermarket tires. I ride desert and run ITP Holeshot XC's on ITP Baja rims. This makes the quad several inches wider for a very nice increase in stability!
The EX suspension is descent, but aftermarket suspension can work wonders for any machine. I run WorksPerformance Steelers with cans on front, and UltraCross in back. My EX is the best machine at dancing through the whoops I have ever ridden!
Lastly, you can open up the airbox and put on an aftermarket exhaust...and of course a rejet. I run the EHS Racing airbox lid with Outerwears cover, a ProDesign (ProFlow) adapter and foam air filter, and an FMF PowerBomb header and PowerCore 4 muffler.
I say stay out of the engine! Run good quality oil and leave this thing alone and it will run forever.....

when i turn it on it wont get off first gear ... it wont catch any other gears .. if not da cluth wat can it be ... and to sdm it snot that im new to riding its just i really dont know much bout upgrading my bike ...

Dude you can get new clutch pads and plates for bout 150 and if you want a badass bike id get a 450r but if you wanna go with 400 id put a FMF powerbomb header, goodpipe "like hmf" uni filter and dyno jet kit. 400ex is a bulletproof bike can beleave the clutch already out!! Me and my bro. put alot of money in are 400s as u can see on my list but it still didnt hang with the 450s
