I put in new piston and had head milled on my lt 80. while it was apart I took 2 rollers out of the clutch. it was very greasey and where the rollers roll some were worn down on the star plate. also took oil inj. off running 32-1. has no power and no top end. what did I screw up???? also seems to be running very hot! I dont have the plastic on the motor could that be the problem with the heat? its 30 degrees out side I thought that should take the heat problem. is there a diffrent plug or a carb set I should be at? thanks for the help

did you rejet ?is it running lean? hows the plug look? sure you mixed the gas and oil correct? even if its cold outside you will still have a heat problem , sounds deffinetly like its running lean...check the plug.

Hoyt, he's going thru some steps. The stock jetting is way fat. Even with the head shaved, it shouldn't be a problem.
I'm starting to think it's sucking air.ie:: bad compression but runs OK. New top end, more compression=more suction on the intake stroke thus possibly sucking air.
What ya think?

after looking at clutch better rollers arnt bad but small flat spots and the star looking piece that hooks to the key is wasted( couldnt see with all the grease)key was smashed by guy I bought it from so it wasent even hooking to star piece. also where the rollers roll on star piece has very bad wear marks. so I just ordered. should have on fri. also when I took apart the rollers were laying the wrong way( the first time yesterday and today) how do they flip? should I hold it callapsed and after installed the belt pres. will hold it from there? if so that was one of the problems. On sleds they have a spring that holds pressure to stay open the belt must work like the spring. right or wrong?

get the clutch all fixed up right...when you have it idling did you check the rubber boot between the carb and head? LT80 seems to think your sucking air causing it to run lean ...he might be on to something.
