Xplorer 400 help
#1
Hi all, Decided it was time for my first post.
Livin in Northern MN here and we are getting crapped on with lots of snow. I have a 98 Xplorer 400L, moose plow setup for snow etc. Have a couple questions.
1st - My winch to operate the plow seems to be drainging the battery wayyyyy to much. I can get about 15 minutes in of plowing and then its pretty much to the point where I cant even lift the plow. I put it on a charger for awhile and then its good to go for another 15 minutes? Is this normal?
2nd - My AWD seems to work sometimes and then sometimes not. After I have plowed snow into a pretty big pile, and go to back up, 3 out of the 4 wheels spin and spin me sideways unless i really can it and then all 4 spin. Is something electrical wrong or is it just sensors? Sometimes happens goind forward too.
3rd - All of a sudden its been popping out of gear going in reverse, I thought I read somewhere that one can tighten something up to stop this? Dont know right now, still gettin familiar with this machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just doesnt seem like its willing to plow snow very well is all and its kinda frustrating.

1-it shouldn't be draining your battery like that if ou are still running it. might want to check the battery. when you put it on a charger use nothing more than the 2 amp setting, 1.5 is better. usually takes 4 to 8 hours to fully charge one. hitting it with more than the 2 amp setting will hurt the battery.
2-have you changed the fluid in the hubs lately? might be time for it or it may need to be adjusted. there's an allen headed bolt on it if I remember correctly you turn to adjust. I will have to look at my buddy's xplorer tommorrow. someone else here might chime in more about it.
3- sounds like the linkage needs to be replaced or adjusted. they have ends like the tie rods that wear out over time. pretty easy to adjust. take off the nuts on the ends and loosen the nut on the rod. keep adjusting.
