2000 trail boss 325 rattling

Default 2000 trail boss 325 rattling

i have a 2000 325 trail boss it seems to have a rattle in the top end is it valves or what?

Most likely the front cluch buttons are worn

clutch buttons? i dont know a lot about this atv but it sounds too me that the rattle is in top of motor around the valves cam area

what is clutch buttons? are they adjustable? i really dont know a lot when it comes 4 strokes and automatics!

If it sounds like it is coming from the top end, I would check vavle clearances. Without going and reading the Haynes book, I couldn't give you details but it is pretty simple to check once you get the engine to the proper position and the valve access port opened up. Just need a feeler gage.

Pull the belt cover and check the slides and buttons that ride for looseness
