Before I do something stupid, what is the proper way to remove/replace a woodruff key on the crankshaft? It is the the furthest one in, the one the sprocket goes over.

BTW, Trail Boss 325.

Short story, not only did the timing chain break, but the crankshaft sprocket broke as well. The current key looks kind of torn up. I plan on replacing it to be on the safe side.

 

use a punch and sotfly tap it on one end and it should start moving up the other side and then pop out, i hope this helps out.
