Default 1985 ATC 110 Problems

Hello. im restoring a 1985 atc 110 i picked up. Cant seem to get it into neutral. Can anyone tell me the shift pattern on the 110. It has the high and low gear set in the tranny. ,the neutral indicator is missing .I need a bunch of parts for it but i want to atleast see if the tranny is blown or not. The motor turns over.its not locked up. I took both rear covers off . One side has the chain and sprocket and the other seems to have a metal enclousure. I was expecting to see brake shoes under it,but it looks like you need to take the axle lock nuts off to remove it?? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated as im new to the atc 110 motor

All the way up is Neutral
Yes the brake is on axle must remove the Jamb nuts
When reassembling these adjust load on rear bearings that is why there are 2 nuts
If in neutral you should be able to roll fairly easly
If in gear should try to turn engine as you should be able to push start
Good luck

I think neutral is all the way down on the 85. It is all the way up on the older ones. On the rear axle, you took off the dust cover. Now you are looking at the brake drum. You have to take the axle nuts off to get the drum off. They are reverse thread. The drum is on the axle splines and will probably be difficult to get off without driving the axle out of the bearing carrier. That'll be the time to replace the rear axle bearings. Once the drum is off you'll see the brake shoes.

It can be a lot of work to get it apart. I'd make sure it runs and drives before I messed with rear end. Good luck!
