Default Need help with plastic on 400ex

Alright i put new plastic on my 400 last nit and i cant figure out how the key ignition comes apart to put it in the hole. Any info? Also it was jus bored to a 426 and has a white brothers full exhaust and new air filter and after you get past 1/2 throttle it spits and sputters. So do you have any recommendations on jet sizes for my carb?

Welcome to the forums 426honda. Ignition usually has a plastic nut that twists off the top. As for jet its a 165-170 DynoJet if airbox lid is off. I had the white bro's e-series. Don't remember what the Keihien equivalent is.

Yea i paid 500 for the pro meg e series. Then another 170 for the header. But i just got the quad 2 days ago. And its a project so im just goin through it right now to see what else im gonna do to it. I overlooked how to get the ignition off it was so easy. But im use to messing with my raptor. Thanks on the info for the jets. Is there any other mods that go good with a 426 high compression motor, full exhaust, jets , and air filter? And is it worth the trouble??

The setup you have with the proper jetting. IMO Keihien jet cheaper and works fine if you can find correct size. Take your airbox lid off with a uni foam filter and you'll be set.

That is one of those things it seems everyone has a diff opinion on. In fact there is one guy around here somewhere that says to break it in by giving it hell. I've seen some say 15 to 20 hours. Personally I feel about 3 runs of an hour or more letting it cool completely in between.
