I'm going to install a winch tomorrow. I'm curious where you guys who have the same model have placed the selonoid?

thanks

No not much room anywhere - I was debating putting in the storage trunk too, but found it just barely fit there. Was debating cutting the wires that came with the winch to reduce the amount I had to stash by the battery.

you should cut all your wires to length. if you have all theat extra slack the extra wire just cut it and go with the amount that you need. if you read your directions it will tell you if you need to route the wires further than what they supply than youll need to go up a wire size. this is because of the voltage carried through the wire if its too long than your voltage drops and you dont get the max out of your winch. if it even works at all granted your not going to see any difference if you cut off the extra wire or leave it especially were its only 6" of wire but. but you should cut it to size just to clean up the install

what do you guys recommend for the switched power source? I was going to tie into the accesory on the handlebar, but I see it's not switched. I'll dig around and find one, but if you guys may be able to make it easy for me.

Sorry if I'm too late, but at the front of the handlebar, below the plastic piece, you will see a wire with a female bullet connector end on it. That's where you are supposed to plug it into. That's where it's at on my '06 anyway. Hope that helps.

thanks. Do you mean inside the instrument panel or under the handlebars behind the body panel. I don't see a wire in the instument panel
