Okay...I have a little bit of mechanic skill but, not much and I need some help. We recently got a Roketa model ATV-56A, 150cc ATV for our daughter and seem to be having a few "minor" problems with it. It runs great once it gets started but, we have trouble keeping it going when it is cold. The engine will start but, it doesn't want to idle and will cut off. Once it is warmed up good this does not seem to be a problem. Also....one of the rear tail lights won't come on and stay on during normal riding but, it will come on when the brake lig ht is engaged. I know the bulb isn't bad and that there is probably a short somewhere...I just don't know where to look. Lastly, when we are riding full out (and this thing will fly!) there seems to be a metallic rattling coming from somewhere. It is probably a bolt that needs to be tightened but, I can't seem to figure out which one. Everything that I can readily get to is tight. Any ideas??

The engine seems to be working really hard when it is running full out. It is governed down for our daughter..could this be why?

Probably could use a larger Jets for the running problem. They all seem to come jetted a bit lean lean. And sounds like a short on the light wiring, but just because the brake light comes on does not mean the bulb is good! There are two filaments in that bulb!

 

Hi, the metal sound is probably the metal weel covers,my wifes bike does that.It is cold natured but it helped me a lot when I adjusted the throtal jet.
