Predator or outlaw 90?

I'm Thinking of moving my 6 year old up to a 90. He likes the styling of the Polaris models, and the local dealership has a left over 2006 2 stroke Predator and the new 4 stroke Outlaws. I was wondering if anybody had any first hand experience with the units, and which is better. The dealer is trying to sell me on the 2 stroke. The salesman claims it's better, but he may just be trying to get rid of it for all I know.

I went with the 4 stroke Outlaw 90. I didn't want the hassle of mixing gas and making sure I don't by mistake put the mixed gas in my 500. The bottom line the way I see it Polaris is moving towards 4 stroke engines, therefore I would say that the 2 stroke maybe better but its being phased out. My opinion.....

look atthe 90 sportsman they have higher ground clearance and has the same power and i don't know if outlaws and predators have reverse but these do my daughter loves thinks she has to go backwards everywhere

Both the '06 Predator and the new Outlaws have reverse. Stock for stock the Outlaw is faster than the Predator. Once modded the Predator is faster than the Outlaw. Like LT80 said, very few aftermarket parts out yet for the Outlaw, but that will change over time. The Outlaw is overall bigger than the Predator, so for a 6 year old the Predator will probably fit better.
If I had to buy one now though I would get the Outlaw 90 MXR. That thing is cool, even comes with Fox suspension stock.

Yep the Outlaw 90 has reverse. I almost bought an off shore ATV with no reverse and I am luck I didn't. Reverse is used a fair bit more than what I thought. Cargo bags are also available for the sportsman, however my son liked the Outlaw's looks....

I have 2 outlaws, one for my 6 yr old son and one for my 11 yr old dgter. I like the wide stance and reverse.

I bought an '06 Predator 90 in Sept. and my son loves it. I wanted the '06 because I wasn't sure about the reliability of a first production year model in the Outlaw. The '05 and '06 both have reverse and you don't have to mix the gas and oil, it is oil injection, you just put the oil in a tank under the seat. If you check around you can pick up a used one for about $1400 and you can get a new one for around $1800 and you get the 6 month Polaris warranty. Hope this helps, Greg

Outlaw faster than the Predator? I am not so sure about that. The Predator's engine is lighter, and makes more power. My 5 year old got one for Christmas (governed WAY down). I took the screw out and rode it. I could drift it with no problem. Would estamate 40+mph with my big butt on it...
