Guys ive been having a problem with my 700. When i start the atv and turn the lights on..my lights start to flicker and the spedometer lights shut off. When i shut my lights off everything on the spedometer turns right back on. Ive checked voltages and everything seems to be fine. I also have a brand new battery installed on the atv. And what exactly is the ecm? And where is that located?

what year is this? if it has it it would be under the panel under the headlight pod i do beleave.

 

Sounds like a ground problem

 

It is a 02 700

 

I just went through my 2002 700. Polaris had a problem with that years electrical system. They have a kit that changes the stator- flywheel- rectifier-and coil, like the 04's. If you try and order a CDI for that year,they will tell you it is on backorder until end of Feb. What's that tell you, they can't even keep up with the demand. The kit that I used is a much better design.
