help, ive had trouble getting it to run right since i got it, it was in pieces and free so i took it. it starts fine and idles fine the first time i start it each day but while im driving or if i rev it, it'll go to idle but slowly return to top end, is it something in the carb or cable or what? the spring that returns valve to idle is fine and doing its job as well as it can, any help is well appreciated

 

I would start with checking the float in the carb.....also the idle screw, or the throttle screw...either may be off just enough to mess it up.....I had a similar problem with it filing out plugs so I cleaned all the electrical with a wire brush, sprayed wd-40 on all the electrical...then adjusted the mixture....also make sure that if you have a fuel filter on it that it is clean

 

thanks but not the problem, i fixed it yesterday and it runs like a dream now, one of the fuel jets had a *****in rock it in, yes, a ROCK! i took a safety pin and pushed it out and it runs fine now
