after removing two weights it studders
#1
Any idea why? I have a 87 that Im trying to get a little more oomph. removed two rollers and it studders. what makes this happen? did'nt studder befor removal of rollers. cleaned clutch faces and clutch from grease. maybe had a little grease on fingers got on belt? I did'nt see it but did wipe down the belt befor reinstalling. at first engagement doesnt studder but pulling up the rpm range id does.

I did get the key in the right spot. problem that I see is something I should have seen when I had it off. the plastic sliders are so worn about 1/8 on sides and even more on top its shacking around . it was making alot of noise didnt think of it. but after looking and thinking( overated). I see it must be the problem. I think when I sent jack the motor I sent some extra slidres that will fix it. so I have two lt80s dismantled in the garage. will let ya know

When you are talking about removing to rollers wouldn't it be better to remove three so they are evenly spaced. I am just thinking out loud and what are the benifits of running only 2 or 3. I run the stock variator on th Eton, can it be done with that?

there is 6 total. when you remove two opposing it is still even for weight.2,space,2,space.
all it does is.takes more rpm to engage(stall) better take off. yes I belive you can do that on your eton. I did it on my falcon 250. works great

What kinda Grams are you running, keeping in mind that mine is fairly stock and I have a 1500 main and small springs in the rear. I am looking for a little more off the gate. and rebounding after the corners and such

I think the stock weights are 6.5. I have tried as light as 4.5 and as heavy as 7.5. Just trying different combinations to come of the gate a little harder. My son who rides it is a little heavy so I need all I can get. I also thought about running the smaller tires on the Super cross track that we have been running this winter. It would change the gearing a little. Someday I will get this figured out. The less weights does make sense as long as it doesn't bind up, it is just less weight that it has to get spinning again.
