Default 07 Sportsman 800 hitting rev limiter

Hey guys, I have a 800 with 18 hrs on it. It seems to hit the hit the rev limiter in low gear quicker than before. I also noticed it will move a little while in gear at idle. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if its low range you might hit the limiter if you push it past 18 to 20mph. have you burned the belt at any time. the only reasons it would try to move ahead is if the ebs bushing is bad or maybe the belt is junk. what is it idling at for rpms?

I noticed mine doing that before the belt broke, check your front lower engine mount to make sure its not broken.

It idles between 850 and 900 rpm's. I'm not sure if I smoked the belt. Last fall I had to pull alot of seed (around 1000 pds) on a trailer to plant deer feilds. There were some pretty steep hills and the side cover felt a little warm to me.

Another thing is I had a 05 700 (carb) that would wheelie in Hi or Lo sitting on the seat. The only way I can get the 800 up is in Lo with my foot on the back rack.

Blacksheep, I saw your thread on that and I checked mine. I cant see any movement at all on the front mount. I'm guessing its ok.

first off it should be idling at 1150 +- rpm. w/ stock wheels in high it should at least bring up the front a little. if you were hauling that kind off weight you should have had it in L.range. its possaible that you did burn the belt. take the cover off and check it out. even test it w/ the cover off just watch out for the clutch that you dont get anything caught in it. let us know.

Yeah I keep it in Lo anytime I haul or drive on steep hills. I'll take the cover off tommorow and let you know. Thanks for the help.

Ok, I took the belt off, it looks ok to me. What should I be looking for?

My Scrambler just started lurching in gear, so I took off the cover and the clutch isn't fully disengaging!!! It's got a stiff spot in it so now I have to pull the clutch and probably replace the bushings!!!
