the older wolvys
I have an 01 and its a great trail machine. It's not fast by any means. In stock form I would say about mid 40's is all it will go. If you're looking for a speed machine this is not it. However It is a great lightweight 4x4. It has a single range 5 speed auto clutch. The steering effort is very light even in 4WD. My 12 year old daughter doens't have any trouble turning it. I've added 25" tires but I am thinking about dropping back down to the 23" tires, which come on the new wolverines, simply to get the bottem end back and maintain the ride comfort of the radial tires.
You have to remember that you are only dealing with a 350cc machine and it reaches it's power limits pretty quick. Or maybe I just notice it since I spend my time riding with 500cc+ utility quads.
My only complaints is its lack of low end grunt with the 25" tires or lack of top speed with the 23" tires. If I could put the six speed tranny from the warrior in and run the 23" tires it would be great. It also doesn't have a speedometer, gear indicator, or fuel gauge which are nice and convenient.
I'm thinking about trading mine in on the new 450's.
