Default *Help* 1996 Sportman 400 4x4 hesitating during acceleration

Hello all, I am new to the forum. Just purchased a 1996 Sportsman 400 this last week to do plowing with. Anyways, the throttle was really loose, so I started to change the throttle adjustment hoping to tighten things up. Anyways now since I have changed things the atv seems to be hesitating every few seconds when I am in gear gowing forward. Almost like it is not firing correctly. I replaced the throttle back to where it was but I am still having the issue, once I start accelerating it seem to hesitate real quickly and then kick back in. I checked the plug, and air filter, everything looks fine and clear. I did notice that the oil (2 Cycle) resovoir looked almost dry, so I refilled it. I am not sure if it was because of this it was misfiring or something else. Do you think running it for a while would be best or any other suggestions? I put new gas in....any thoughts would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Brady
