Want to put A New 3000 LB. Winch on my 08 sportsman 500. One dealership says I need to purchase a mounting bracket for the winch and the other dealer says the 08's have a universal plate from the manufacturer. Can anyone out there please help? Thanks

I needed a mounting plate for my 2007. Don't think anything has changed on the 2008.

 

The gorilla winch I was looking at for my 04 sp 500, came with all the mounting brackets in a kit, I would think the gorilla kit for your 08 would also come with the mounting brackets in a kit.

 

you need a bracket to fit the polaris. if its a univeral bracket it wont fit the new bikes. if you look, gorilla does sell the mounting plate for a polaris just make sure its a 05' or newer.

 

SWEET, thanks for all the help. I ordered the Polaris mounting bracket. If anyone is thinking of ordering a Gorilla winch purchase them from Ebay. The dealer is the Gorrila manufacturer and the prices are WAY less than the actual gorilla website. Now I just ned to figure our how to install it..... Thanks
