Default Nerf Bars

I am still new at modifying my 2003 wolvy. I was just wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are of nerf bars.
Thanks,
Kevin

well that deppends on how you ride. I ride in the desert and dunes on my banshee so I have no problems with them...I also would not ride without them. I love having a bigger area to put my foot...

Keeps your rear tires from getting hung on trees when sqeezing by them. Also protects your feet and legs from getting smashed by in-coming objects. I've seen 2 wrecks happen over the years (just trail riding) where if they had not had nerf bars somebody would have been on crutches for a while, but they walked away uninjured.

I only have them on the 450 so far, but the #1 thing for me was protection from sticks and other objects that can be kicked up by the front end. Secondly was having more room to move my feet when riding/cornering, kind of work out like highway pegs on some rides.
