New starter less than a month ago. Starter drive failed last week. Busted gear teeth and all. Does that assembly come as a kit or as a unit? Looks like I need to remove the flywheel if its a unit.

 

Should be able to remove the recoil cover and change it without removing the flywheel. They are sold as a complete unit ready to drop in. You can go to www.bikebandit.com and look at the oem parts lookup page to see the breakdown.

 

o man on my 500 sportsman engine it was a beast tring to get it out but i did pring and spinning to teh right spot were it was happy and yelling but got it out the new one was a lil bit easier to get in.but you can get it out
