Default Stroker Blaster

I have a bad piston in my blaster ( bought used) which the skirt decided it wanted out and fell into my lower gearcase. The quad ran but what would cause the piston the break one side of the skirt. My cylinder walls are fine and appears to be standard bore. I would like to get another crank /connectiing rod that's balanced and noticed stroker kits. So my question are as follows.

Chevy 350 stroked to 383 will give you more low end torque. I assume this is the same for quads? If you do get a stroker kit, What other mods will be necessary if any ( rejetting carb or running higher octange gas?? ) Is this really worth it? I am looking for reliability over performance but would consider performance if the costs was close as rebuilding stock.

A stroker is not as reliable as stock. Then again, no engine mod is as reliable as stock. The stroker will add a lot of torque and the cost usually is not that much higher than replacing with stock parts. There may be more machining costs involved, though.

vitos has the 3mm kit wcich has a spacer plate no machining needed but the 4mm kit does require machining to the cases. not sure how much that cost.

Shop costs all depend on how much work you can do yourself. If you can split the cases and take just the cases to them they will be much cheaper than if you need to have them split the cases for you.

Before I go balancing stuff, What most likely killed my piston. One skirt was missing and no damage at all to the cyclinder walls. All the pieces fell into the lowe
r case and the motor sill ran but blew smoke at 110 PSI
