Default PLEASE HELP!!! 2004 SPORTSMAN 700 NOT FIRING CORRECTLY.

I have just purchased this atv from someone and after installing my new battery tonight i can't get it to run it was this way already i believe. it has been sitting up for about two years and when i hit the starter button the plug will fire and then just quits. if you continue to turn it over you will get no more spark. turn it off and let it set for a minute and it does the same thing one spark and done. any ideas please? i want to hear it run so bad.

Look at the ecm recall on this page ,see if its on there, if not it sounds like the stator.

If the recall doesn't cover it, then try the simple things first. Replace the spark plugs and see if that helps.

when mine was doing that i started at the plug and worked backward. it turned out to be the pulser coil. it is one of the less expensive components($30). rmstator sells them pretty cheap. i would try that before buying the entire stator, which the cheapest i found was still about $275
