NEW!!! help anti freeze in my oil
#1
i have a 07 fourtrax rancher es with about 800 miles on it. ive notice white smoke, checked my oil and it did have anti freeze in it. this is my first atv ever so i don't know much about atv. i do know some what on cars, use to be an auto machanic but never work on an atv before. the head gasket was first in mine but was not sure because atv and cars are different. i did a search and didn't find much. water pump was also on the list but from my experience the head gasket was more common to leak. i did call honda and they said the same thing. i took the head off and the head gasget didn't show any cracks. anyone here has had this problem before? i am trying to get an service manual but honda said they only print on demand and it will take 3-4 weeks. anyone knows the head torque spec?

Its a relatively new model the 420 Rancher so I,m not sure if "Clymer" or "Haynes" offer a service mode for it yet. Head gasket or water pumb seal is the only way anti freeze can enter the oil as far as I know.
The head gasket can look visually OK but still need to be replaced.

haven't been in any source of water. oil is almost greenish and at the time i could clearly see anti freeze tank getting lower. i will definitely get the headgasket. its only $23. i use my atv daily so the problem is the ordering time and specs/info that i need. not sure but i read somewhere that helms also make them.
