Default New Tires for Polaris Sportsman 300

I am interested in upgrading my Sportsman 300 (the 2008 version of the Hawkeye) with 25" Terracross or Mudlite tires (AT or XL). I have some concerns if these larger tires will cause any rubbing on the rear fenders, decreased steering up front, or any substantial power loss. The stock tires are 22X7X12 in the front and 22x10x12 in the rear. I'm looking to put on 25x8x12 and 25x10x12. I'd hate to spend the $ only to find out they won't fit. Also, do these ITP tires run a little small or are they exactly 25"? And as far as weight goes, I've heard that Mudlites are lighter than most. Is this true of the Terracross tires as well? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the 25" Mudlite ATs on my Hawkeye on the stock wheels and I have no problems and no rubbing. It actually rides beter with the 25" tires on it than it did stock. Steering effort increased some. Power loss was not that bad as they aren't all that powerful anyway. It will spin the heck out of them in fairly deep mud. My Mudlites measure full 25" size.

Thanks for the input. I think I will go with the 25" AT Mudlites. Looking forward to the coming season.
