rolled my rancher, help
#1
I flipped my 06 rancher yesterday and did some damage. This includes bent handlebars, bent front rack, and my gas gage and fill hole no longer line up with the factory holes. I wouldnt think that the frame would be bent even though it hit both me and the ground pretty hard but non-the less something is outta wack. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on what i need to do to fix it. I am pretty mechanical and can ingenuitive so im open to anything lol. Thanks for your help

Well, the handlebar and the rack are no-brainers. Replace the bar. They are not expensive, and too critical safety wise to trust bending it back.
The rack, on the other hand, if you can bend it back into shape, go for it.
Frame wise, take the body work and tank off and take a good look at everything to see if anything is bent. If it was just a low speed tip over, chances are it just shoved body work around on it's mounts, hopefully, or it might have tweeked some of the brackets on the frame.
If you are planning on keeping the machine long term, and doing your own work, invest in a factory service manual.
I assume the goal is to avoid turning it in to the insurance, and fixing it yourself?
Anyway, main thing is you apparently weren't hurt.
Welcome to the forum, and good luck. Upload some photos.

yeah i would like to be able to fix it myself cause i have a 500$ deductable and i hardly thing it would be worthwhile to turn it in. I would really just like to get it close to what it was before my blunder with just manpower and maybe buy a new set of handlebars.

I hit a tree with my 03 rancher. It wasn't that hard of a hit, but I noticed that my gas gauge and cap also don't line up properly but I think it adds character lol. I seem to remember that they have never been perfectly lined up even when she was brand new oh well.

thanks alot. Looked at it today when i got off work and it looks like its just the front rack that suffered the most damage and that in turn pulled the plastic covering the gas tank foward about an inch. On a not so good note where the headlight is attached to the fender is broke but i can live with that. Gonna strip her down when this cold weather breaks and hopefully line it out. I really like my little rancher and am ready to get it back on the trail for a big ride in the ozarks in a couple weeks.
