Default Chinese Quads

another topic on my mind. my cuz is 15 years old, and hes trying to get his parents to get him a quad, hes trying to get them to buy him this komoto 250cc racing quad from this place in his town, now im more for atvs that you can accually find parts for, and this is one of them generic chinese brands. so in my opinion he should save his money and get a real nice ( and easy to fix ) quad. and i know im not the only person who feels this way about off brand atvs, is their any off brand quads worth the money you give for them?

All my freinds who have bought off brands have lived to regret it. Steer him toward a used machine from the big 4.

Welcome to the forum DeathValleyReaper!

Jetmoto is one of the best from China right now. Not sure if I would recommend one to aggressive 15 year old though. Is he a aggressive kinda guy or a putter? How much is he going to pay for the komoto?

I know when I was 15, you could hand me a brick and I could give you back dust.

He could probably get a good used Honda 300 and would have a pretty durable quad to bang around on.

his parents decided not to go cheap and he took my advice. they wanted 1200 for that chinese quad. but yesterday they went out and got him an 2002 300ex. its pretty much stock and is in good shape. he's gonna start building on it soon. he gave 2000 for it and got a helmet and some chest guards with it. how good are the 300ex's? i mean for his age and size, he's only 135lbs.

He would have been ok on a 250 at that weight. 300 should be good for a while for him. Sounds like he got a good deal with the extras.

Yup, perfect quad for him. That one should last him at least until he has a job and can buy his own!
