I went on a delightful 41 mile early Spring ride on rural gravel roads today in 2WD with my X2 500 and got 26.4 mpg, which I thought was pretty good.

07 800 Stealth, about 50 to 55 mile's per tank. 55 divided by 4.13= 13.3, but who care's, I didn't buy it for gas mileage. Enjoy and ride WOT, but be safe.

You care if you go on one of our 100+mile loops rides or camping trips without a gas station anywhere on the way. Carrying a big clumsy 5 gallon gas can along for a long ride is a drag or not a option.

I get about 100 miles with my 5.25gal gas tank on that type of gravel road riding so it works out to 20 mpg.

26mpg is great!

Our 97 Sportsman 500 (Non H.O) with a smaller 34mm carb gets about that.

I like the large 6.5 gallon tanks Arctic Cat offer on there Utiliy ATV now, even at 14mpg you have a riding range of 90 miles.

I do agree, I had a 500 EFI that was great on fuel, but most of our ride's are right in that 50 mile range before we re-fuel and I do carry a 2.5 gal tank as back-up if we decide to go a little further.

26 mpg is good ,I knew the EFI where a improvement on gas consumption but thats a great Improvement!

I quess thats why Polaris thought a 5.25 gallon tank was not needed any longer and use a 4.13 gallon now?

X2 500s get a 6 gallon tank and the thirsty 800s get the 4.13s tanks. Someone at Polaris needs to go back to college.

How can you measure when not computing halfs or empty tanks? Does the block graph translate somewhere
on how much gas is left or how much has been burned? (technical question)

Regards,

Fill to top of tank before ride. Ride X miles. Fill to top of tank with Y gallons. Divide X by Y equals mpg.

You CANNOT depend on the gas gauge. It is horribly inaccurate.
