Default gas mileage

Do the smaller engines get better mileage? I have a Honda 250 with a 2.4 gallon tank. Seems pretty small in comparison to what you guys are talking about.

With my 2004 Sportsman 400 the fartest I went
without filling up was 97 miles, and when I
topped it up I had 1/2 to 1 litre left in the tank.

The smaller engines probably get a lot better mileage. I had a Kawasaki Lakota 300cc that would go about all day on a tank that was on the small side. Same with the 250cc 2 stroke Polaris Xplorer 4x4 I had. Never went on any 60+ mile trips with them though.
