i have an 01 polaris scrambler 500 4x4 that got hot due to the fan not working replaced the fan and does not over heat now but have never seen or heard the fan come on but i know it works, what tells the fan to come on? can this part be bad? and where is it located?

 

I "think" on the older ones that there is a NO temp switch on the lower right side of the radiator. If you jumper this the fan should come on. I am basing this on sportsmans from that time.
